Getting Past Age, Gaps in Work History, Other Liabilities is a Major Complaint of Many Job Seekers, According to ITS Survey
Many job seekers feel they lose out or are never considered for a choice position because they have one or more liabilities they don't know how to deal with. According to ITS, this is fast becoming a major complaint among job seekers, because so many more people today have one or more common liabilities to contend with.
Sue Worden, Vice President of ITS in Denver, who was previously a psychologist, made the following observations about that. "Age is a classic problem. But increasingly people are having to deal with gaps in work history, unemployment, working for a company that failed, achievements that are difficult to describe, and more."
Thousands of job seekers visit our websites each month, many of them to take advantage of the free services they can get there, including a free resume analysis and a comparison of how they stack up to their competition in more than 200 different characteristics. In the course of helping them, ITS routinely asks them what their biggest complaints are about job seeking in general.
"We've had so much experience over the years with thousands of job seekers, that we were able to isolate dozens of specific liabilities, together with precise methods for dealing with them -- in written materials, in what you say, how you say it, and in actions you can take to minimize them or even turn them to an advantage," said Worden.
"It's all available to our clients. For others, my advice is, seek out solutions from people whose opinions you respect, and go with solutions that feel comfortable for you."
ITS services address all of these issues for clients we serve.
