Lack of Confidence is Major Complaint Among Job Seekers Nationwide, According to ITS Survey
"I'm not all that confident there are jobs out there for me, or if there are, that I could beat out the hundreds of other people who are likely to be going after the same job. Good jobs seem to be scarce these days." Among the many complaints job seekers have, lack of confidence is one of the more common, according to ITS.
Thousands of job seekers visit our websites each month, many of them to take advantage of the free services they can get there, including a free resume analysis and a comparison of how they stack up to their competition in more than 200 different characteristics. In the course of helping them, ITS routinely asks them what their biggest complaints are about job seeking in general.
Sue Sramek, Vice President of ITS on the West Coast, is acutely aware of this because of her background in Psychology. "To be confident, you need to identify the specific types of employers that would most want your skills, and know precisely where and how you'd contribute. You also have to believe you can easily set yourself apart with a superior resume and letters, and excellent interviewing skills. How many people do you know who'd feel confident if they started a job search today?
"It's not easy, which is why so many people contact us each month. We've worked years to develop resources that can make it easy, but first we need to make sure we've provided our client everything he or she needs to be calmly confident. Having a whole team to support you on an ongoing basis helps. You don't feel alone out there."
ITS services address all of these issues for clients we serve.
